Florence and The Machine are a great new British band. It's the moniker for Florence Welch and a cast of other musicians who provide the background for her outstanding vocal abilities. The band received their prominent push from the BBC and received exponentially more followers after doing a string of summer music festivals. The band's debut album, Lungs, was released physically in the U.S. on October 20th, 2009 via Island Records and earlier in the UK at the beginning of July. Chick's got some pipes. A cover of one of my personal favorites, Beirut's "Postcards from Italy", has been added to the playlist. Check out a live performance of their song "Between Two Lungs" below.
